Nicholas Crombach - Bio
Nicholas Crombach was born in 1989. He spent his childhood growing up in Lansdowne Ontario on his parents dairy farm. He is the middle child of three sons of Patricia and Harry Crombach. Nicolas graduated from the Ontario College of Art & Design University (OCADU, Toronto) with a BFA Sculpture & Installation Major this past spring (2012).
Nicholas began “creating” at a very young age, his parents say, “there wasn’t a day Nicholas didn’t make a craft, draw or build something, he was always busy creating!” Focussing on drawing and painting until the creation of a life sized sculpture of a hippopotamus head in 2007 which was made with the classic medium paper mache, Nicholas then began exploring three-dimensional art forms. This led to the exploration of materials including Metals such as bronze and steel which became the material choice for Nicholas’ work.
