Steven Murray

My goal in art is to render an aesthetic image through abstraction that creates a sense of depth and time through colour and form. After working with various paint media over the past 4 years such as etching and lithography; I have settled on working with Mono types using Akua Ink on a French printing press. Akua Inks are, water based inks that were developed in the early 90’s by print makers in the United States, who wanted to develop high quality non toxic inks for printing. Akua inks allow me to create a painterly effect in the printing process. I’m currently working at the Open Studio in Toronto, where I have worked closely with Astrid Ho, on refining my printing process using Akua Inks. STEVE MURRAY 2012
